About The Position

The Quality Technician performs random and scheduled online inspections of vessels and products produced at the manufacturing facility. This role involves collecting and recording relevant data, performing line and/or equipment audits to monitor production performance, and inspecting cylinders for visual or structural defects. The technician will monitor finished products to ensure quality conforms to specifications and will look for opportunities to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes, and overall improvement efforts. Adherence to all EHS guidelines, applicable procedures, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions is required. The employee must report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly and follow proper machine shutdown procedures, including shutting down the process if unsafe.

Requirements

  • Must be dependable and self-motivated.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Be able to contribute to and support the existence of a positive work environment.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.
  • Regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk.
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move objects. Objects over 50 pounds will require the assistance of other staff or mechanical devices.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Be willing to work overtime when required at times due to production demands and availability of material.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience in quality control preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs line and/or equipment audits to monitor production performance.
  • Inspect and test cylinders for visual or structural defects.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Look for opportunities to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
