The goal of this position is to demonstrate excellence in quality efficiency within a facility. The Plant Quality Manager will be responsible for the overall Quality strategy for the facility. This person is responsible for managing and enforcing new and established, standards and protocols, ad hoc quality audits, committees, and training activities within a plant. Provide leadership that supports the workplace culture improvement process throughout the hourly and salaried workforce and coordinate changes in methods and procedures to improve profitability and operational performance. Work “on the process” as well as “in the process” to drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Waste, Throughput and Earnings. Administration of the QMS, its requirements and documentation flow. Administration and Management of internal audits Interface with department Managers, Supervisors, Hourly Employees, internal and external business support people and Sales Team. Manage customer complaints and required internal/external communications, documentation and complete reconciliation of issues; follow up with resolution of root cause analysis and corrective actions. Provide training to all Incoming employees on QMS. Various meetings and organization of other activities that support the quality system on a regular basis. Develop and implement systems and frameworks through which all employees work, make business decisions, and deliver business results. Develop and maintain customer relationships to ensure business goals are met. Ensure effective implementation and on-going compliance with the company Quality Management System (QMS) Provide products and services that consistently meet the mutually agreed upon specifications of both our internal and external customers. Involve team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities throughout the business. Responsible for providing resources and tools necessary for the development and implementation of quality and food safety systems. Provide leadership and direction for achieving quality improvement by interpreting policy, recommending strategies, organizing resources, and assisting leaders in the development and implementation of improvement plans. Executes the business unit’s quality assurance related strategic plans to support the organization’s objectives and goals Provides oversight of quality assurance systems to ensure quality production within the plant is consistent with established specifications and standards. Flags any significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance related investigations, audits, or improvement activities to senior leadership team. Ensures uniform product specifications, quality assurance methodologies, and statistical process control (SPC) run rules are in-use within the facility. Reports quality assurance KPI information to key stakeholders. Applies SPC, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing methods to evaluate and improve the current quality assurance systems and processes. Ensure adherence to Lean Methodology, including Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, Daily Management, Layered Audit Process and Business Plan development to eliminate quality issues. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards, including food safety. Ensures continuous compliance with government, customer, and third-party food safety certification requirements, including on-site audits within the facility. Manages a Quality Budget within the facility that represents an achievable value to deliver back to the business Effectively lead, manage, develop, coach, and evaluate team members and associates at various levels of experience. Provide analytical support & coordinate the efforts involved in resolving quality issues in regards to product failures and/or returns.
