About The Position

EOTECH Edge Vision Systems (EVS) is seeking a Quality Manager to support the development and maintenance of a customer-focused culture within the organization. A fundamental part of the role is monitoring and advising on how the system is performing, which may include the publication of statistics regarding company performance against set measures. A key role of the quality manager is to ensure that customer requirements and expectations have been accurately identified and that the organization meets or exceeds customer expectations. This role may also extend to determining how customers' expectations will change over time and what the organization must do to meet these evolving expectations. The quality manager will champion, support and lead quality improvement initiatives, as well as ensuring that all managers, process owners and supervisors develop and maintain their part of the Quality Management System (QMS). The quality manager is also responsible for executing and maintaining the EOTECH Quality Management System that meets the AS9100D standard. This position reports to the Vice President & General Manager, EOTECH Edge Vision Systems.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of quality management experience (function, department, cost center).
  • 2 years of management experience (managing people, department, cost center).
  • Knowledge of the details associated within a product lifecycle process.
  • Exposure to both operations/manufacturing and product development quality.
  • Familiarity with and prior exposure to ISO 9001 compliance and certification.
  • Experience with the use of statistics in product development and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in quality, reliability, or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in quality, reliability, or industrial engineering.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in a quality engineering role.
  • Defense industry experience preferred.
  • Understanding of how commercial and consumer market business practices and how products, development and go-to-market strategies differ from aerospace and defense.
  • Direct experience with operations/manufacturing and product development quality responsibilities (2 years each).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Six Sigma Green Belt is a major plus.
  • Academic emphasis or industry experience in statistical analysis and reliability engineering.
  • Prior exposure to supplier quality-related activities.
  • Prior experience as the AS9100 Quality Management System representative, including leading certification audits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the quality function for the site.
  • Provide oversight of internal audits to AS9100 standards; all customer, internal, and supplier process and material non-conformance RCCA and CAPA; COPQ; Risk Registers as per AS9100; Management Review, AS9100 and customer audits and responses to non-conformances via the OASIS online portal; ESD audits; site Quality cross-functional training, Minitab data entry and analysis; AS9102 compliant First Article Inspection Reporting; documentation updates to reflect best business practices; Quality ownership for all customer/supplier meetings and visits
  • Drive the Quality Management System in coordination with operations and product development, following product lifecycle management and other business processes.
  • Maintain AS9100 certification.
  • Serve as the quality interface and provide expertise between the organization and its customers to proactively ensure that needs and expectations are understood and satisfied.
  • Support the supply chain management organization for the collection and analysis of supplier quality data, acting as the primary quality interface and providing expertise and support for the plant’s suppliers and partners.
  • Provide expertise in quality assurance and process improvement tools and methods to targeted functions of the organization to support them in their continuous improvement activities.
  • Execute the initiatives of the organization to develop, implement and improve the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation.
  • Participate in the internal quality system audit and facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems, including following up on corrective actions.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data; provide support in the development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits.
  • Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities across the organization, with efforts focused on the identification of customer expectations.
  • Successfully complete the First Article of Acceptance as a prime and subprime supplier to the US and allied military.
  • Drive supplier non-conformances to closure.
  • Ensure the Material Review Board (MRB) function is completed weekly; promptly disposition the product and issue corrective actions to suppliers.
  • Manage inspection and other quality department staff.
