The Quality Lead monitors operations to ensure production meets standards and recommends adjustments to assembly or production processes. The role performs final and critical quality inspections, accepts or rejects finished items, removes items that fail inspection, and ensures quality control inspectors are performing their work. The position works with outfitters and other departments, communicates inspection data and defects, and identifies opportunities to improve safety, quality, and delivery. The role performs assigned tasks under general supervision using established procedures and innovation. It chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems, uses occasional independent judgment to complete work, and often makes recommendations concerning work procedures, policies, and practices. The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings and may involve extreme heat and humidity, intermittent extreme noise, dust, fumes, smoke or gases, solvents, and slippery or uneven surfaces.
