About The Position

The Quality Lead is based at RHI Magnesita’s East Canton, Ohio refractory manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring product consistency, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the integrity of the plant’s quality management systems. The Quality Lead leads a team of quality technicians and partners with production, technical, and customer-facing teams to support plant performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO quality systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
• Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software tools.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work across multiple functions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in refractories, ceramics, metals, or materials processing is highly preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or a related technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure quality activities align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external certification activities.
• Analyze process and quality data to identify trends, reduce variation, and improve product consistency.
• Partner with production, technical, and customer-facing teams to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality technicians, fostering accountability and professional growth.
• Track, report, and communicate key quality metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
