About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Quality Inspector for a weekend-shift manufacturing role. The inspector checks products and incoming materials for compliance with quality standards, tracks inspections and required documentation through the shop, and responds to inspection requests. The role involves working with management and other departments to address non-conformities, recommending alternate solutions, and supporting continuous improvement. Work is performed using written standard operating procedures, ASME code requirements, and ISO standards, and includes dye penetrant inspections and housekeeping. The stated weekend hours are 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The hiring hourly range begins at $20.25, with a shift premium; the final hourly rate depends on factors including education, experience, skills, location, internal equity, and market data. Requirements

Working knowledge of the ASME code, piping code, and ASHRAE.
Ability to interface between departments when resolving non-conformities.
Ability to interact with customer representatives and authorized code inspectors.
Ability to read measuring devices.
Basic math knowledge, including fractions, acquired through completion of high school.

Responsibilities

Inspect all product types to ensure external, dimensional, and/or functional aspects meet quality standards.
Track work through the shop, ensuring required inspections are completed and paperwork is accurate.
Respond promptly to inspection requests.
Coordinate with management regarding non-conformities and recommend alternate solutions.
Perform incoming material inspections.
Present and implement quality best practices and procedures for continuous improvement.
Work according to written standard operating procedures, ASME code requirements, and ISO standards.
Perform dye penetrant inspections.
Perform housekeeping and other duties as required.
Participate actively in a Continuous Improvement Team as a condition of employment.
