About The Position

This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus! Bodycote offers paid holidays and paid time off, as well as 401k match, Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans for employees and families. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 6am-2pm. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive. Based in Cranston, RI the Quality Inspector will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Quality Leadperson to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Requirements

  • This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one to three years in heat treating industry or related field
  • Must have working knowledge of all testing equipment and terminology
  • Must have some experience reading/interpreting blueprints/specifications, be detail oriented and possess manual dexterity
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of commercial and aerospace materials and heat treating equipment is desired
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform hardness and other tests and records results as required.
  • Performs calibration of all testing equipment accurately and on schedule.
  • Performs audits, weekly probes, surveys, etc. as needed or defined by procedure and/or schedule.
  • May be required to complete conformance certificates and/or other related paperwork.
  • Meet all specification requirements per BMS.
  • Report any deviation, problem or irregularity to supervisor or management immediately.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Perform other tasks as designated by position
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism
