About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Sector is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in Huntsville, AL! Leidos Defense Systems Sector / Manufacturing provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 8 years of relevant Quality Inspection experience.
  • Experience in leading operations or teams in completing tasks.
  • Able to solve complex problems, relate with other team’s members, and communicate with other levels of management.
  • Knowledge and understanding when reading and interpreting drawings.
  • Knowledge of how to efficiently use micrometers, height gages, gage blocks, radius gages, and calipers etc.
  • IPC certification or 3 years of relative electrical inspection.
  • Experience in an ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
  • Able to populate handwritten or computer-generated inspection reports.
  • Computer Skills and can use computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.
  • Able to work full-time with minimal supervision and adjust priorities based on workflow.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Government contract and SOW interpretation.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR regulations.
  • Previous auditing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect component and assembled parts.
  • Must be able to read and understand assembly instructions.
  • Read and understand Drawings and Technical data packages.
  • Preform Internal AS9100 audits.
  • Write Non-conformance and start investigation to root cause.
  • Lead or participate in 5S activities.
  • Instruct technicians on proper installation assembly and techniques.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites to perform quality inspections.
