About The Position

Kitsap Mental Health Services is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Quality Improvement Projects Coordinator to support organization-wide quality improvement initiatives. In this role, you will coordinate projects that enhance quality, patient safety, operational effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and organizational performance. Working closely with clinical, operational, and administrative teams, you will help drive continuous improvement efforts, facilitate project success, and support strategic initiatives that strengthen services across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, nursing, business administration, Health Sciences, or a related field required. High school diploma or GED accepted with 5 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, project coordination, performance improvement, or related field and two years of experience coordinating multiple projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, project coordination, performance improvement, or related field.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, including PDSA, Lean principles, root cause analysis, and process improvement tools.
• Understanding of healthcare quality, patient safety, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong project coordination, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Sharepoint.
• Ability to analyze information, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
• Formal Project Management training preferred.
• Experience supporting accreditation, regulatory, or patient safety initiatives.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting, including hospitals, ambulatory care, community health, or managed care environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate quality improvement projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop and maintain QI project plans, timelines, and tracking tools.
• Monitor QI project milestones, deliverables, risks, and barriers, escalating concerns as appropriate.
• Facilitate QI project meetings and maintain agendas, action items, meeting minutes, and follow-up activities.
• Track project progress and prepare status updates for leadership, committees, and stakeholders.
• Maintain a centralized inventory of quality improvement initiatives and associated documentation.
• Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives using established improvement methodologies.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary teams in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing solutions.
• Assist with process mapping, workflow analysis, root cause analysis, and action planning activities.
• Promote the use of evidence-based practices and performance improvement principles throughout the organization.
• Collaborate with the Quality Data Analyst and project stakeholders to identify project measures and reporting needs.
• Monitor project performance metrics and outcome measures.
• Assist in interpreting and communicating performance data to project teams and leadership.
• Use available data and reports to support project decision-making, sustainability planning, and performance monitoring.
• Serve as a liaison among departments participating in improvement initiatives.
• Foster collaboration and engagement among clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.
• Coordinate communications related to project goals, progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.
• Support leaders in implementing and sustaining process improvements.
• Support organizational readiness activities for regulatory, accreditation, and certification requirements.
• Assist with performance improvement documentation and evidence collection for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews.
• Monitor improvement activities to ensure alignment with organizational policies and applicable quality standards.
• Assist with departmental planning, annual goals, and strategic quality initiatives.
