About The Position

Quality Engineering Technician Greenville, SC Precision matters here. We’re looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to support manufacturing operations in a high-precision machining environment. In this role, you’ll partner with quality engineers and production teams to ensure parts meet specifications, investigate quality issues, and keep inspections and documentation on track. If you enjoy working with data, inspecting parts, solving problems, and improving processes, this role puts you right in the middle of the action on the shop floor.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Quality, or related field — or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of quality, inspection, or manufacturing support experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use inspection tools
  • Familiarity with SPC or quality data analysis a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Minimum (2) year degree in Mechanical, Process, or Manufacturing engineering or other related field
  • 1-3 years of applicable engineering/quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Exposure to Computer-Aided-Design (CAD), Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Failure Effects Mode Analysis (FEMA), PPAP and APQP desired
  • Ability to work independently; to make good, sound, and timely decisions; to exercise proper judgment and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with keen attention to detail, strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to understand, track, organize and successfully complete multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact diplomatically with employees, customers, and associates
  • Ability to handle and process information in a timely and confidential manner
  • Ability to sustain high energy and enthusiasm with the appropriate level of urgency as needed
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand all manner of accounting and financial regulations, contracts, forms, etc.
  • Ability to learn and accurately use all company computer quality-related software programs
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency of using enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Ability to receive and understand training by various methods: i.e., oral, written, on-the-job, computer-based, etc.
  • Ability to create and maintain documentation for reports, procedures, and databases
  • Excellent writing/speaking skills and the ability to communicate professionally, objectively, and effectively
  • Sufficient ability to read, write and speak in English and be understood; and to follow instructions
  • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to be able to read and view paperwork, printouts, ledgers, computer screens, etc.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to type and operate office equipment as related to the fulfilling assigned duties
  • Ability to understand and fully support the company Mission, Safety and Quality policies to the letter of each
  • Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job
  • Must be able to stand/sit continuously daily and twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort
  • Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine typing and use of office equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in precision machining or aerospace manufacturing
  • Exposure to quality systems or FPQ documentation
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing quality data
  • Assist with FPQ documentation (bubble drawings, CAV forms, certifications)
  • Track nonconformances and help drive issue resolution
  • Maintain inspection reports, calibration tracking, and quality records
  • Work with engineering and production teams to improve product quality
  • Supports product quality activities to ensure parts and processes meet defined specifications and requirements
  • Assists with data collection and analysis related to manufacturing processes and quality metrics
  • Supports continuous improvement activities by gathering process data and assisting with root cause investigations
  • Provides technical support to quality engineering and manufacturing teams to meet LEAN and customer requirements
  • Assists with implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and related documentation
  • Collects and organizes quality data for analysis by quality engineers and leadership
  • Assists with failure investigations and supports corrective and preventative action activities
  • Monitors supplier quality documentation and assists with tracking supplier performance issues
  • Performs routine statistical data collection and assists with process capability studies (Cpk, Ppk)
  • Supports preparation of quality reports, presentations, and documentation
  • Assists with tracking and follow-up of internal, supplier, and customer nonconformances
  • Documents and tracks corrective actions to ensure timely resolution
  • Maintains detailed quality records and documentation for manufacturing and engineering processes
  • Supports First Product Qualification (FPQ) and documentation requirements including:
  • Bubble drawings
  • CAV (Characteristics & Accountability Verification) forms
  • Material, process, and conformance certifications
  • Inspection reports and supporting documentation
  • Performs inspections and audits of products and processes according to defined sampling plans including:
  • First article inspection
  • Work-in-process inspection
  • Borescope inspection
  • Final inspection
  • Gage calibration tracking and recordkeeping
  • Supports management of multiple FPQ packages and documentation deadlines
  • Assists with development and maintenance of routers, inspection criteria, and process documentation
  • Works with engineering and manufacturing teams to support product quality requirements
  • Assists in identifying potential quality or process issues during manufacturing operations
  • Provides feedback to engineering and quality teams regarding inspection results and process trends
  • Maintains and updates quality procedures, work instructions, and related documentation
  • Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instructions
  • Organize, clean, and maintain work area to promote neatness
  • Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
  • Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
  • Willingly performs other duties as trained and able
