About The Position

This role is a Quality/Engineering Co-Op position for the Spring Semester, with a January 2027 start date. The co-op is a full-time, 40-hour per week commitment from January 2027 to August 2027, located in Sherman, TX. The position is designed for students enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program who are looking for hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical and decision-making skills, and PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Safety conscious
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with a hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Commitment to full-time (40 hour) Summer/Fall Co-op experience in Sherman, TX from January 2027-August 2027.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this role will not be provided

Nice To Haves

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering
  • Junior or senior class standing
  • Direct experience with AutoCAD and the development of drawings
  • Six months generalized work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • General Lean Manufacturing knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Work with Quality/Assembly/Engineering on daily tasks to include but not limited to: writing work instructions, quality alerts, change requests, tooling/fixture drawings, and other documentation as required.
  • Update shop floor layouts and perform time studies.
  • Document current and future state workflow and potential process improvements.
  • Participate in kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve processes and assist with lean initiatives.
  • Attend department, team, and project meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, teams, and departments to develop and implement solutions to safety, quality, and production challenges.
