About The Position

Boeing Distribution, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Quality Engineer to join their team in Enfield, CT. This role involves leading the team in problem-solving, customer and supplier-facing activities including travel for training and reviews, and ensuring customer quality metrics are met to maintain preferred supplier status. The position requires conducting Corrective Actions Boards (CAB) with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring robust Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), and leading customer scorecard metrics. The Quality Engineer will also lead purge activities, manage containment within 48 hours globally, handle RMA products, and submit documents for MRB approval. Responsibilities include writing quality, sampling, and inspection plans, reviewing RCCAs for trend analysis and process improvements, training team members, and assisting in writing/reviewing technical specifications. The role also drives PFMEA activity internally and with suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering or related field of study
  • 4+ years of quality experience
  • Experience with execution of root cause corrective actions (RCCA)
  • 2+ years of experience with AS9100/9120 Standards
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency working with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements; a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team to become resourceful in seeking answers/guidance to complex problems.
  • Able to perform duties related to customer and supplier facing activities, including travel for on-site training and reviews.
  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding customer quality metrics to ensure customer preferred supplier status.
  • Conducts Corrective Actions Board (CAB) with customers, suppliers and internal BDSI organization.
  • Ensures a robust RCCA that will satisfy internal and external requirements.
  • Lead all on customer scorecards metrics.
  • Works with quality specialist to Lead all purge activities and ensure containment is within 48 hours globally.
  • Works with customers on RMA products and submits documents for MRB approval.
  • Writes quality plans, sampling plans, and inspections plans for customer products.
  • Reviews RCCAs for trend analysis to work process improvements.
  • Help train team members as needed on various quality topics.
  • Assists in the writing and reviewing of technical and performance specifications, quality plans, sampling plans, and inspections procedures.
  • Drives PFMEA activity internally and with suppliers as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
