About The Position

This position is located in Greenville, SC for a Quality Process Specialist at Michelin Tweel. The role ensures the obtention and process quality control of the Polyurethane Line by identifying and applying best practices, deploying process control and variation reduction methodologies.

Requirements

  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science Engineering required.
  • Manufacturing background required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite, Power BI, Pi, and other various statistical tools to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive progress towards process optimization by studying and analyzing performance data then developing and deploying engineering solutions.
  • Ensure product and process quality by crafting testing methods- testing finished- product capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide mentorship and support to operational management and shop team through quality expertise, leading and facilitating the new product industrializations.
  • Lead the application of root cause analysis in problem solving/causes of anomalies.
  • Provide technical guidance to the manufacturing facility as it industrializes new technology or new processes incorporating collected information and trends.
  • Participate in Product Quality Planning (impact analysis, preliminary capability, FMEA, Quality Plan, training needs).
  • Apply hands on technical troubleshooting skills to existing processes with quality problems.
  • Deliver products that are compliant with quality planning models and are manufactured in compliance with obtention standards.
  • Meet the quality and productivity performances defined by the shop using “Right the first time” principles.
  • Mentor operators (including the quality correspondents) to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation.
  • Follow up on process performance in terms of capability and productivity and takes part in ensuring permanent improvements are made.
  • Take part in project planning for changes to products, materials, processes and methods.
  • On occasion, fill in or perform functions of Business Unit Leader.
  • Drive progress through the MDP/N1 process including owning the quality panel.
