About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Newark, NJ; Paramus, NJ; or Parsippany, NJ. This role represents the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The position provides Quality interpretation of requirements, develops quality metrics, and designs and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. The engineer will conduct capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities and participate in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Additionally, the role assists in the development of new standards repairs for non-conformances, analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, and performs analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. The engineer will recommend corrective actions to address non-conformances and perform benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. This role applies advanced Supplier Quality prevention tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean and Six Sigma, and leads cross-functional Requirements Reviews and Capability Assessments at BDS suppliers. The engineer will also assist with the evaluation of new technology and manufacturing process deployment readiness at suppliers and perform special capability approvals to ensure technical readiness, capability, and supplier process controls are established. The role works under general direction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) and failure analysis
  • Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
  • Experience collecting, organizing, synthesizing, and analyzing data, then summarizing findings; developing conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
  • Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certifications
  • 3+ years of experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles
