About The Position
The Quality Engineer applies quality principles to product and process quality for make and/or buy products. Areas may include design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and research and development. The role performs technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, models and designs, drawings, and procedures. It collaborates with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to ensure quality standards are in place. The position also supports product failure investigations, material review board decisions, and corrective and preventive action; develops strategies and systems to improve internal and supplier performance and productivity; evaluates quality systems to identify and correct deficiencies; and designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment. The engineer conducts product quality tests, performs statistical analysis of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications, and participates in supplier selection and certification programs. This is an on-site, full-time position in Orlando, Florida, with a Secret clearance required for the role.
Responsibilities
- Apply quality principles to product and process quality across areas such as design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and research and development.
- Perform technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, models and designs, drawings, and procedures.
- Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers on quality-related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.
- Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions, and corrective and preventive action.
- Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or comply with requirements.
- Develop strategies and systems to improve internal and supplier performance and productivity.
- Evaluate quality systems to identify and correct deficiencies.
- Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment.
- Conduct product quality tests and perform statistical analysis of products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Engage in supplier selection and maintain certification programs.
