About The Position

The Director of Quality provides leadership and strategic direction for the company’s Quality organization across all facilities. This role establishes and aligns the quality management system (QMS), drives standardization across sites, ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements, and partners with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve quality performance. The Director oversees Quality Managers at each site, setting expectations, providing structure, and ensuring consistency, while allowing site-level teams to execute daily quality operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management roles, with a multi-site or director-level position.
  • Experience in switchgear or electrical equipment manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in ISO 9001 certification and audit leadership.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certifications a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and align multiple site quality teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working across functions and with executive leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement standardized systems and processes.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001, structured problem-solving, and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to lead corrective/preventive actions, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the company-wide Quality organization, including Quality Managers and site quality teams.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) across all facilities.
  • Define quality policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Set company-wide quality KPIs, monitor performance, and provide reports and insights to the VP of Quality and executive leadership.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment with Engineering, Production, Test, and Supply Chain to prevent defects and improve first-pass yield.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action processes for systemic quality issues, ensuring containment and long-term resolution.
  • Standardize inspection, audit, and reporting methods across sites to eliminate variation and improve accuracy.
  • Provide oversight and governance of customer complaint handling, ensuring timely response and corrective actions.
  • Partner with suppliers on quality expectations, audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Train, mentor, and develop Quality Managers, ensuring effective leadership at the site level.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, defect prevention, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Support ISO certification, audits, and compliance activities at all facilities.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
