About The Position

At Lonza Portsmouth, we are at the forefront of Cell Therapy, working with patient-derived cells. Our Quality Control (QC) teams are the ultimate guardians of patient safety. This is an Evergreen position, meaning we are building a pipeline of talented scientists and quality professionals for multiple current and upcoming openings within our Cell Therapy asset. We are hiring across all experience levels (Level I, II, III, and Senior) for various specialized QC departments including Analytical Quality Control, Environmental Monitoring, QC Microbiology, and Raw Materials. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related Scientific discipline is required for most technical levels.
  • 0-2 years of experience for entry-level positions.
  • 5-10+ years of experience for advanced technical leader positions.
  • A deep commitment to Data Integrity, attention to detail, and a passion for patient safety (The "Quality First" Mindset).
  • Commitment to fixed, in-person, and on-site schedules.
  • Desire to grow within a high-performing department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-precision testing to verify the potency and safety of live cell products using techniques like Flow Cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, and cell-based assays (Analytical Quality Control).
  • Maintain the microbial control strategy of the state-of-the-art facility (Environmental Monitoring).
  • Perform aseptic gowning, Grade B cleanroom sampling, and HVAC/Utility monitoring (Environmental Monitoring).
  • Conduct direct microbial testing of products and materials (QC Microbiology).
  • Execute sterility testing, Bioburden, Endotoxin, and Microbial Identification (QC Microbiology).
  • Ensure the quality and compliance of every component entering the manufacturing process (Raw Materials).
  • Perform sampling, visual inspection, and identity testing of critical reagents (Raw Materials).
