About The Position

At Lonza Portsmouth, we are at the forefront of the most exciting frontier in medicine: Cell Therapy. Because we work with patient-derived cells, our Quality Control (QC) teams are the ultimate guardians of patient safety. We are currently building a pipeline of talented scientists and quality professionals to support the world’s largest commercial Cell Therapy operation. This is an Evergreen position. We are hiring across all experience levels (Level I, II, III, and Senior) for various specialized QC departments.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related Scientific discipline is required for most technical levels
  • Experience from entry-level (0-2 years) to advanced technical leaders (5-10+ years)
  • A deep commitment to Data Integrity, attention to detail, and a passion for patient safety (The "Quality First" Mindset)
  • Commitment to fixed, in-person, and on-site schedules
  • Desire to grow within a high-performing department

Responsibilities

  • Performing high-precision testing to verify the potency and safety of live cell products (Analytical Quality Control)
  • Maintaining the microbial control strategy of our state-of-the-art facility (Environmental Monitoring)
  • Aseptic gowning, Grade B cleanroom sampling, and HVAC/Utility monitoring (Environmental Monitoring)
  • Direct microbial testing of products and materials (QC Microbiology)
  • Sterility testing, Bioburden, Endotoxin, and Microbial Identification (QC Microbiology)
  • Ensuring the quality and compliance of every component that enters the manufacturing process (Raw Materials)
  • Sampling, visual inspection, and identity testing of critical reagents (Raw Materials)
