About The Position

We are seeking a Quality Control Co-op to join our multidisciplinary QC Analytics team. In this role, you will provide critical support in executing assays that evaluate the biological, biomechanical, and biomaterial properties of our 3D bioprinted tissues. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with cell biologists, biomaterials experts, and engineers to ensure the quality of life-changing implantable therapeutics designed to transform how we treat disease.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled in a biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, degree or a similar program.
  • You have previous work experience executing research and development in a wet lab setting.
  • You can design and execute experiments, conduct technical literature searches, and have a full understanding of the research and development process.
  • You have hands-on experience with experimental techniques for performing biological assays (ELISA, colorimetric assays, immunostaining), and data analysis.
  • You have outstanding attention to detail and experimental and process rigour.
  • You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
  • You have a burning desire to learn more and aren’t afraid to ask questions.
  • You thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment and believe that we can get further, faster by working together.

Nice To Haves

  • You have hands-on experience with aseptic technique and carrying out mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience working with primary cells, iPSC-derived cells, or organoids in 3D culture systems would be advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in executing a variety of analytical methods (e.g., cell-based assays, molecular assays, and structural analysis) for the testing of raw materials and final drug products.
  • Supporting team members in experiments for the qualification of analytical methods according to regulatory guidelines (ICH, FDA, Health Canada).
  • Performing routine analytical testing to support internal process development and early-stage stability studies.
  • Accurately recording, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting experimental data.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting analytical method issues, proposing solutions, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Working cross functionally with Process Development, Quality Control, Research & Development, and Manufacturing to support product development milestones and resolve analytical challenges.
  • Performing routine maintenance and calibration of analytical instruments and ensuring proper functioning, as needed.
  • Adhering to and contributing to the development of robust analytical quality systems, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
