About The Position

We are seeking an In Vivo Co-op to join our Translational Sciences team. You will be an integral part of our team supporting pre-clinical research and in vivo experimental activities. You will work closely with the in vivo team to ensure the smooth execution of experimental procedures, inventory management, and preparation of biological samples. Please note: This role will close applications on July 13.

Requirements

  • You are enrolled in cell/molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or a similar program.
  • Previous experience executing research in a wet lab setting, with the ability to perform experiments, and have a full understanding of the research and development process.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have an outstanding attention to detail and are able to successfully execute experiments in a timely manner. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
  • Intellectually Curious: You have a burning desire to learn and explore various aspects of pre-clinical in vivo research in industrial settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with animal handling, especially rodent, and aseptic technique.
  • Experience working with primary cells, or organoids in 3D culture systems would be advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the in vivo group during experimental procedures, which includes conducting routine and post-surgical observations, performing various injection routes (IP/SubQ), blood collection, and other essential duties.
  • Engaging in all phases of experimental work, from initial setup and execution to post-study monitoring and final cleanup activities.
  • Manage the preparation and sterilization of instruments, hardware, and various study-related materials necessary for preclinical trials.
  • Assist with the oversight and replenishment of necessary in vivo research supplies.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy when recording, organizing, and monitoring research data and experimental outcomes.
  • Uphold an orderly and sanitized environment within the vivarium and associated laboratory spaces.
  • Coordinate the secure packaging and transit of biological samples and laboratory equipment between various site locations.
