About The Position

Dow is seeking a Quality Control Analyst for their plant in Knoxville, TN. This role requires a team player with minimal supervision who can perform lab tasks using advanced instrumentation safely and efficiently. The analyst will be responsible for executing data entry of lab results into quality databases and maintaining high standards of lab housekeeping and organization.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following: 2 year college degree in relevant science or engineering field or 3 years of relevant military experience.
  • 2 years of Laboratory experience.
  • 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing plants.
  • A willingness and ability to work 12-hour, rotating shifts.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

  • Lift, push, and pull up to 55 pounds.
  • Frequently bend, reach, and lift.
  • Ability to safely and accurately perform qualification testing on raw materials, in‑process, and finished products using advanced laboratory instrumentation while following written test methods and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail for recording, entering, and maintaining QC data in laboratory requests, SAP worksheets, and quality databases, including preparation of certificates and letters of analysis.
  • Capability to identify non‑conforming material, notify appropriate stakeholders, ensure testing equipment remains in control, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance.
  • Skill in troubleshooting lab instrumentation, test methods, and work instructions, performing minor repairs, and supporting continuous improvement and peer training activities.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting team members, backing up other analysts, maintaining lab housekeeping standards, and adhering to safety, shift, and physical job requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualification testing of raw materials, in-process, batch final, shipment final, and special request samples.
  • Perform testing according to written test methods.
  • Notify appropriate individuals of all non ACC1 material.
  • Record QC data on lab requests and SAP worksheets.
  • Record QC data on raw material lab requests.
  • Record QC data on Laboratory Requests and/or SAP worksheets.
  • Record/Enter QC Data in SAP database system.
  • Prepare and Issue certificates/letters of analysis.
  • Ensure test equipment is in control.
  • Take corrective actions to get instrumentation in control.
  • Act as a quality resource to other team members.
  • Implement corrective actions.
  • Provide quality training to other team members.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repair of lab instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot quality procedures, test methods, and work instructions.
  • Back-up other analysts.
  • Complete housekeeping duties.
  • Monitor the Boiler/TPA alarm panel board in the Laboratory.
  • Maintain and order supplies/chemicals with the help of Lab Leadership.
  • Perform other work as necessary within the framework of the job.
