About The Position

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Multicraft Maintenance Mechanic at the Knoxville, TN location. The purpose of this job is to repair and replace mechanical systems, pumps, agitators, including piping and machinery supporting operating plants and utilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years of maintenance work experience in a chemical plant, packaging facility or a skilled trade using similar skills such as a Pipefitter, Millwright, or HVAC technician.
  • Current, valid US driver's license.
  • Able to work straight shifts Monday-Friday from 7 am- 3:30 pm.
  • Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a maintenance or related discipline.
  • 3 or more years of relevant military experience.
  • 5+ years experience in a chemical plant, packaging facility or a skilled trade using similar skills such as a Pipefitter, Millwright, or HVAC technician.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing motors, valves, rotating equipment and all equipment necessary for the chemical plant operation.
  • Working with Operations to troubleshoot equipment upsets and determine path to repair.
  • Executing preventative maintenance plans to maintain equipment reliability such as calibrations, alignments, lubrications, etc.
  • General construction including shop fabrication, machining, and small welding jobs.
