About The Position

Keen, a Wallenius Wilhelmsen company, is hiring a Quality Assurance employee at its equipment processing center in Sanford, North Carolina. The role completes pre-delivery inspections on heavy equipment and performs shipping and receiving functions. It is responsible for maintaining equipment quality during receiving, storage and preservation, exercise, pre-delivery/quality assurance, final inspections, and shipping, and for confirming that quality standards meet or exceed customer requirements. The position also requires regular, frequent communication with internal teams, including Keen Customer Service, Safety, and Quality, as well as external customers during audits and visits.

The job operates in a professional shop and yard environment, with frequent exposure to weather, dust, dirt, rain, fumes, and fluids. Work involves operating construction and agricultural equipment, cranes, forklifts, welding, and painting. Standard office equipment, including computers, phones, and printer/copiers, is also used. The position requires working outdoors throughout the year in reasonable weather, walking or standing for a full workday, and performing physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, and inspecting parts.

Requirements

• Experience operating construction and agricultural equipment, lift trucks, and cranes.
• Ability to use smartphone technology to complete inspections and other electronic forms.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of employees and management.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must pass a post-offer drug screen and background check as a condition of hire.
• Regular and punctual attendance as required.
• Steel-toed boots or shoes are required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to climb, stoop, crawl, bend, stretch, lift, and carry.
• Ability to walk the yard to inspect and identify machinery or parts.
• Willingness to work outdoors year-round in all reasonable weather conditions.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for a full workday and work from a range of positions, including standing, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, reclining, and climbing scaffolding or ladders.
• Sufficient hand and arm strength to unpack and inspect parts.
