The Role: We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and fanatic about high standards. As a CAVA Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for executing and enforcing daily quality-based tasks that are instrumental to maintaining CAVA’s quality. Our Quality Assurance Technicians adhere to all plant GMP’s and lead others by example through following very important FSQA behaviors. This position will report directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager, offers limited overtime, and requires some scheduling flexibility.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Experience in Quality Assurance is a plus
  • Possess exceptional analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have excellent organization skills
  • Must be self-driven and able to work independently to deliver results in a timely manner
  • Must have familiarity with Food Safety plans

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Chemistry or other science preferred
  • HACCP plan experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Administers Equipment and Sensory based Quality Assurance checks (pH, temperature, titrations, inspections, taste/visual checks, verification checks, etc)
  • Conducts ATP, Allergen and Environmental Swabbing
  • Evaluates raw materials to ensure Quality Control standards for ingredients and packaging
  • Observes and reviews production practices and behaviors to verify adherence to procedures
  • Works closely with production staff to implement holds, corrective actions and document processes
  • Assists management to develop and review SOP’s
  • Manages sample submissions to outside lab and tracks results for anomalies
  • Conducts quality-based training with assistance from management
  • Contributes insight and feedback to management team to improve upon current processes
  • Executes additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Food Safety and Quality Manager
  • Assists the production department in order to meet yield demands
