About The Position

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for inspecting and evaluating produce entering the distributor’s facility to ensure it meets The Fresh Market’s standards. The role requires produce expertise and reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. The specialist acts as a company representative at the distributor’s facility and may refuse product that does not meet company standards. Travel within the assigned territory is required, including occasional overnight stays; travel is approximately 40%.

Requirements

• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to travel within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays; travel required is 40%.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality results by following and enforcing standards.
• Inspect all produce entering the facility.
• Monitor coolers to ensure products are handled and rotated properly.
• Ensure produce is shipped to stores promptly to maintain freshness and quality.
• Communicate concerns to the Quality Assurance Manager and coordinate corrective-action communication.
• Provide the Produce Category team with updates on produce quality levels.
• Refuse produce at the distributor that does not meet The Fresh Market’s standards.
• Monitor shipping temperatures to help ensure produce arrives at stores fresh.
• Interpret and enforce quality assurance standards.
• Act as a company representative within the distributor’s facility.
