About The Position

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist for Norristown State Hospital. This position supports patient rights, maintains hospital standards, and strengthens the quality of care within a team that values integrity, thoughtful review, and clear communication. The role aims to support positive outcomes for patients and staff.

Requirements

Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Be able to perform essential job functions.
Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (conditional offer of employment).

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed reviews of patient abuse allegations and patient rights grievances using interviews, records, and video evidence.
Prepare and distribute data reports that support performance improvement efforts across the hospital.
Provide education and assistance to staff regarding investigations, resolution reports, and corrective actions.
Ensure performance complies with regulatory standards and supports patient rights.
Assist hospital leadership in evaluating care outcomes and developing improvement initiatives.
