About The Position

The Department of Human Services is seeking a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist for Norristown State Hospital. This position supports patient rights, maintains hospital standards, and strengthens the quality of care within a team that values integrity, thoughtful review, and clear communication. The role aims to support positive outcomes for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Two years of clinical experience in an human services agency, including one year of administrative, evaluative, or consultative experience in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (conditional offer of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed reviews of patient abuse allegations and patient rights grievances using interviews, records, and video evidence.
  • Prepare and distribute data reports that support performance improvement efforts across the hospital.
  • Provide education and assistance to staff regarding investigations, resolution reports, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure performance complies with regulatory standards and supports patient rights.
  • Assist hospital leadership in evaluating care outcomes and developing improvement initiatives.
