About The Position

Assertive Professionals is seeking a Quality Assurance Linux Administrator to support a National Security Customer near Hanover, MD. This is a funded and immediate position. The role involves providing support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for various devices. The position also requires managing the Linux operating system, installing software, troubleshooting network components, and optimizing system performance. Responsibilities include creating bash shell scripts for system stability and repeatability, managing daily IT system activities, providing Tier 1 Help Desk support, and performing system capacity analysis. Additionally, the role involves providing detailed analysis and feedback for escalated tickets and supporting hardware problem resolution.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI with a Polygraph
  • Level 1: Four (4) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Level 2: Nine (9) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four (4) additional years of relevant system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • Bash programming experience
  • Perl/Python programming and LINUX (Redhat/CentOS 5 or greater) experience.
  • Knowledge of web technologies (html, xml, Java2E, etc...).
  • Experience with virutalization and Puppet 3 or greater.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.
  • Configures and manages LINUX operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Creates bash shell scripts to aid in system stability and deployment repeatability.
  • Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provides detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
  • Loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components.
