About The Position

West Liberty Foods is a leading food manufacturer that produces a wide variety of meat and poultry products. This role is part of the Quality Assurance team, focusing on laboratory testing to ensure product quality and safety.

Requirements

• Work three 8 hour shifts M - F, days to be determined and every 4th weekend for 4 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday.
• Associates degree in related area or equivalent is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related position is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work independently without constant supervision.
• Must be able to perform basic math.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Must have computer skills.
• Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
• Must be able to work weekends as needed.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must practice good personal hygiene.
• Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing using standard methods and PCR.
• Analyze and interpret microbial results and enter results in the WLF record keeping database.
• Perform chemical and nutrition testing as required by sample scheduling.
• Manufacturing media weekly or bi-weekly based on sampling schedule.
• Perform Quality Control sample testing.
• Maintain a clean work environment to ensure legitimacy of testing practices.
• Other duties as assigned
