Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
About The Position
This role defines, creates, and maintains automated test scripts for quality assurance testing. The engineer will design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts, strategies, and test plans for regression and environment testing. This includes developing custom function/sub-routine libraries, complex SQL queries for backend test scripts, and enhancing/documenting automated enterprise testing methodology. A solid automation framework where test scripts are reusable and easily maintained will be designed. Experience accessing data from external sources like Excel for Data Driven Testing is expected. The role involves reviewing and improving the testing process, estimating testing efforts, providing status updates, and building/maintaining reusable test data sets. Additionally, the engineer will mentor the team in automation best practices and assist manual testers with running automated tests.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, and a minimum of 4-years functional automation experience with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG using Java and Playwright using JavaScript/typescript or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Experience using Maven, Eclipse, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Node, Vscode, and JIRA.
- Four to six years’ experience working on a quality assurance team.
- Four to six years’ experience using Selenium, SQL and Java.
- And/or two to three years’ experience using Playwright, JavaScript/typescript.
- Ability to write and execute manual quality assurance test cases is required.
- Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development processes, and ability to apply critical thinking and investigation skills to identify root causes of software and system problems.
