Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
About The Position
This role defines, creates, and maintains automated test scripts for quality assurance testing. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts, strategies, and test plans for regression and environment testing. This includes developing custom function/sub-routine libraries, complex SQL queries for backend testing, and enhancing automated enterprise testing methodology. A key aspect of this role is designing a solid, reusable, and easily maintainable automation framework. The position also involves experience with data-driven testing using external sources like Excel, reviewing and improving testing processes, estimating testing efforts, providing status updates, and building reusable test data sets. Additionally, the engineer will mentor the team in automation best practices and assist manual testers with running automated tests.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or management information systems, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 4-years functional automation experience with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG using Java and Playwright using JavaScript/typescript.
- Experience using Maven, Eclipse, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Node, Vscode, and JIRA.
- Four to six years’ experience working on a quality assurance team.
- Four to six years’ experience using Selenium, SQL and Java.
- Two to three years’ experience using Playwright, JavaScript/typescript.
- Ability to write and execute manual quality assurance test cases.
- Ability to create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development processes.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and investigation skills to identify root causes of software and system problems.

- Build and maintain reusable test data sets.
- Mentors team in automation best practices and assists manual testers with running automated tests as needed.
- Actively participate in story refinement for comprehensive test case development.
- Develop and execute in-sprint automation for component, integration and end-to-end testing.
