About The Position

Conducts routine analyses and tests of various components of a quality control program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, product assessment, and quality technology. Conducts analysis and tests of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure conformity to specifications in a manufacturing environment. Assists in preparing reports on rejected or defective materials or products. Use magnifiers, electronic instruments, micrometers, snap gauges, and special fixtures and verifies calibration against standards. Inspects a series of attributes and specifications. Sorts materials and/or marks defects for repairs. Inspections may require measurement to close tolerance requiring sensitive touch or judgment. Records results and conformance to acceptance plans. Enters data on control charts and notifies others of out-of-specification conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, technology, or related area. Equivalent work experience in a manufacturing quality control setting will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Overall product quality of all raw materials suppliers.
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and addressing quality complaints and compliance.
  • Issue non-conformances – both internally and with outside vendors.
  • Place materials on hold as needed.
  • Lead root cause analyses of raw materials and Outside Vendors, non-conformities with suppliers.
  • Assist with establishing thorough Process documentation - Segmented by departments.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions with Suppliers, OSV and assist with internal Manufacturing.
  • Follow up to determine if corrective actions have been effective.
  • Track quality concerns from suppliers.
  • Identify trends and opportunities.
  • Generate quarterly reports to share with management.
  • Assist with the Manufacturing & Quality Team to troubleshoot quality issues on the production floor and implement process improvements that reduce defects and variation.
  • Show improvement in overall quality through reduction in complaints, non-conformances, improvement in customer satisfaction, etc.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with work instructions, quality specifications, etc.
  • Identify opportunities and solutions for process improvements resulting in higher quality output.
  • Manage vendor audit program, attending and conducting regular audits with our suppliers, collaboratively with Quality, R&D and Purchasing.
  • Issue reports and follow up on any non-conformances and documentation with Supplier Scorecards.
  • Create and manage an internal Material Review Board, tracking non-conforming components and OSV products and actions needed to correct.
  • Contribute to ISO 9001:2015 efforts across the organization. This includes annual ISO Supplier Audits, Annual QMS audits, and management review meetings.
  • Develop a robust understanding of our Raw Materials, Outside Vendors and manufacturing processes.
  • Backup and support others on the Quality team.
