About The Position

This position supports the F35 Quality & Mission Success (Q&MS) South 2nd shift team. The daily responsibilities include developing and implementing inspection plans, procedures and tools that effectively detect product defects. It also involves providing mentorship and on-the-job training related to quality control methods, techniques and tools to the quality control workforce. Analyzing and interpreting data and metrics in a manner that leads to actionable intelligence and continuous improvement is key. Collaborating with Quality Engineering on the root cause of defects and development of robust corrective actions, as well as conducting surveillance audits for compliance to the F-35 Quality Management Plan are also part of the role. Developing and coordinating defect containment actions and developing and maintaining data and metrics relating to product defects, variation in manufacturing processes, production and Q&MS adherence to the LM Aero and F-35 Quality Management Plans, production adherence to engineering requirements and work instructions, and Q&MS organizational health are also responsibilities. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and requires the applicant to be a US Citizen.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Communication skill - strong written and verbal communication to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving - Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals by performing tasks requiring discretion and general knowledge and ability.
  • Project Management - Proven ability to manage complex projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation and execution.
  • Attention to Detail - Must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success working independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree or Equivalent job experience.
  • Quality management system understanding and quality science expertise in (one of): statistical analysis & process control, sampling, six sigma, FAI, PPAP, PFMEA, process auditing or validation, root cause analysis and corrective action validations, and supplier quality management.
  • History of collaborating cross-functionally to improve customer outcomes.
