About The Position

This role is within the Plant Engineering group at NNS. Individuals will work within the NNS Plant infrastructure by working with system owners to improve functionality at NNS. Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures based on industry standards. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to infrastructure at NNS. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Focus on continuous improvement for processes associated with NNS infrastructure. A clearance is not required to start but one may be needed depending on team needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a high pace, team environment.
  • Experience in data analysis, including ability to generate custom data pulls and reports from PowerBi and SAP.
  • Experience with process improvement tools and techniques and an ability to coordinate improvement efforts.
  • Experience working with Regulatory agencies (NAVSEA/SUPSHIP etc)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses.
  • Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.
  • Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures based on industry standards.
