About The Position

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Responsible for processing, statusing and assisting in the investigation of assigned certification and functional audit cards upon receipt from the government customer, which typically require fact finding facilitation, problem bounding, root cause analysis, identifying corrections to defect and cause, reviewing objective quality evidence, tracking status, writing official company responses, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Employee will also assist with metrics and will work closely with O03 SUBSAFE office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in VCS planning and WPS breakdown is preferred.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and critical-thinking skills.
  • Inquisitive with a willingness to learn.
  • Desire to facilitate resolution of complex problems while working with all levels from individual contributor to director level in all functional areas of the company.
  • Background or experience in quality.
  • Familiarity with SUBSAFE/DSS/FBW programs, root cause analysis, eForms, and SAP is a plus.
