About The Position

The Senior Qualitative Analyst provides expert level qualitative research leadership, mixed methods analytical rigor, and target audience insight development supporting Government program assessments and strategic effects analysis within Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) and Psychological Operations (PSYOP). The role designs and executes qualitative studies, integrates findings with quantitative datasets, and produces mission relevant insights that inform influence activities, operational planning, and strategic decision making.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI active clearance
  • 8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA or 3 years with PhD
  • Qualitative research mastery — Interviews, focus groups, case studies, observations, text analysis.
  • Mixed methods expertise — Integration of qualitative findings with quantitative datasets.
  • Assessment alignment — Ability to translate insights into MOE/ MOP relevant outputs.
  • Operational communication — Clear synthesis of complex findings for planners, analysts, and decision makers.
  • Documentation & organization — Transcript management, multimedia record handling, standardized reporting.
  • Cross command collaboration — Experience coordinating with JSOC, GCCs, interagency partners, and operational units.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and mixed methods social science research supporting assessment of Government programs and strategic effects within OIE and PSYOP mission sets.
  • Apply interviews, focus groups, case studies, observations, and text analysis to collect, analyze, and interpret data aligned with informed influence objectives.
  • Develop research instruments, survey questions, and data collection strategies supporting assessment plans and operational requirements.
  • Perform coding, thematic analysis, and synthesis of qualitative data while integrating findings with quantitative datasets such as polling, surveys, and behavioral data.
  • Produce analytical reports and research products communicating insights related to target audience sentiment, behavioral patterns, and achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Maintain and organize transcripts, translated materials, multimedia records, and other documentation supporting analysis and reporting.
  • Contribute to identification and analysis of observational evidence, usage data, KPIs, MOPs, and MOEs supporting operational assessments.
  • Support quarterly reporting and monthly baseline development through analysis, documentation, and synthesis of findings.
  • Coordinate across JSOC, Geographic Combatant Commands, interagency partners, and operational units to support research execution and data integration.
  • Operate with latitude in developing methodologies and presenting qualitative insights supporting PSYOP and Civil Affairs assessment activities.
