About The Position

Centurion is seeking a full-time Qualified Medication Aide to join its team at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana. Centurion provides comprehensive healthcare services to the Indiana Department of Correction. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or other medical staff, the Qualified Medication Aide assists nurses by following written and/or oral instructions to administer medications and document dosages and administration times. The role also involves taking vital signs, assisting with examinations and treatments, helping patients with activities of daily living, and monitoring patients for changes in condition. The position is full-time nights, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., three shifts per week, including every other weekend. Compensation is $18–$25 per hour, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Graduation from a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) training program.
QMA certification.
Active and appropriate certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Ability to obtain a security clearance, including passing a drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an acute care, long-term care, emergency, or correctional setting.

Responsibilities
