About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) for its detox and residential facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The role supports clients receiving drug and alcohol detoxification and inpatient rehabilitation services by providing timely medical care and assisting with nursing shift duties. The QMA coordinates care with medical and clinical teams, manages medical supplies, schedules appointments, arranges aftercare, and assists with pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.

Avenues Recovery Center at Fort Wayne is a 100-bed residential facility offering detox and inpatient rehabilitation. The position is part of a multidisciplinary team working to provide compassionate, coordinated care in a supportive setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid QMA licensure in Indiana.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of substance use and its biopsychosocial consequences.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to participate in treatment.
• Assist with nursing shift duties, including taking vital signs, conducting drug screens, managing medications, charting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to coordinate care.
• Manage, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange post-discharge aftercare providers.
• Assist with pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.
