About The Position

Airgas is hiring a QC Trainer in Harvey, LA. This role is responsible for providing support and training to ANS districts in areas such as standard operating procedures (SOP), equipment, and evaluations. The QC Trainer will also perform administrative tasks with accuracy, conduct regular district audits, and continuously enhance procedural knowledge and efficiency. The position involves developing and managing training programs, media, and in-house classes to improve proficiency in quality, SOPs, and DOT practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies. Additionally, the role includes providing operational and safety training, managing the evaluation of operators' knowledge on paperwork, and offering feedback to trainees and management. The QC Trainer must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of SOPs, pumping equipment, and industry quality standards, coach ANS leaders on Quality Control Team (QCT) initiatives and audit results, and actively promote a safety culture. The role also supports conducting quality control audits and inspections, ensuring proper reporting and corrective actions, and reporting compliance issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver's license
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Essential working knowledge of nitrogen pumping equipment and products
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Solid organizational, team-building, and people skills
  • Maintaining a calm and professional demeanor while navigating a complex, fast-paced, high-volume work environment

  • Ability to apply technical knowledge and perform all required mathematical computations (including rates, ratios, and percentages)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and training to ANS districts in standard operating procedures (SOP), equipment, and evaluations.
  • Perform administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Visit districts on a regular basis to conduct audits and continually enhance procedural knowledge and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage training programs, media, and in-house classes to increase proficiency in quality, SOPs, and DOT practices.
  • Ensure all instruction aligns with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide operational and safety training to new and existing ANS associates.
  • Manage the evaluation of operators' knowledge on all required paperwork (including service tickets, job reports, and DOT logs).
  • Provide feedback to trainees and management.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of SOPs, pumping equipment, and industry quality standards.
  • Coach and guide ANS leaders on Quality Control Team (QCT) initiatives and audit results.
  • Actively promote a safety culture through JSA, Near Miss reporting, Safe Start training, and Quality Management System (QMS) implementation.
  • Assist in conducting quality control audits and inspections.
  • Ensure proper reporting and corrective actions for evaluations and equipment.
  • Report regulatory compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor/HSE Specialist/Manager.
