About The Position

York Building Products is seeking a QC Lab Technician to support their Quality Control and production teams. This full-time, hourly position involves testing materials, maintaining lab standards, and ensuring product specifications are met. The role is hands-on, not desk-bound, and offers on-the-job training within a stable, family-owned company with over 85 years of history in the East Coast construction materials industry.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to learn — training provided
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Flexible to work extended hours during peak production seasons

Nice To Haves

• Quality Control, lab, manufacturing, or construction materials experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform Quality Control testing on asphalt and aggregate materials
• Collect, prepare, and evaluate material samples (up to 50 lbs)
• Inspect truck beds and materials for quality and compliance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient QC laboratory
• Mix and match product colors to customer specifications
• Complete required Quality Control documentation
• Assist with additional lab or plant duties as needed
