About The Position

The Quality Control Technician coordinates the implementation of quality standards and systems, monitors to ensure standards are being met, improves systems, tests in a control environment the characteristics of the product and process, helps troubleshooting problems, ensures compliance with both internal (regional, national managers) and external (industry codes, local, state and federal regulations) customers.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, equipment manuals, and company manuals and procedures
• Demonstrate manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
• Good communication skills and ability to read, speak, write English (bilingual Spanish helpful)
• Ability to observe, identify, deduce and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
• Quick learner and ability to work under minimal supervision
• Math skills and computer skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
• 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field

Responsibilities

• Comply with Company Safety Policies and Procedures
• Utilizes systems methodology to conduct business activities
• Follow standards established to carry out troubleshooting, testing, calibration, organization, and project management
• Reduces color variation in the manufacturing process, quality forms, control and database entry
• Performs and documents testing as per the QC plan
• Reports all product exceptions as per non-conforming materials procedures
• Monitors color consistency and overall quality during pouring, pulling, and finished goods
• Performs visual inspection of finished goods daily with the yard supervisor and shift manager
• Manages the color formulas to ensure accuracy to the Bill of Materials and color visual standards
• Maintains a current formula binder current and readily available on the production floor
• Conducts monthly audits to ensure accuracy
• All other duties as assigned
• Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
