QC Line Inspector EM: Sun-Tues 5:00pm-5:00am Wed 5:00pm-11:00pm
About The Position
This position audits production and packaging processes for compliance to customer specifications and recommends timely adjustments to improve compliance. The QC Line Inspector ensures the quality of the product meets customer standards by monitoring product weights, checking color, odor, and texture, verifying seal integrity and performing burst testing, and checking product code and fill temperature. The role also involves completing tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer and notifying the supervisor of any out-of-specification measurements after recheck confirmation. Documentation, including Quality log sheets and data input into the Quality control computer, is a key part of the role. The inspector participates as a team member, fostering cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies. They are expected to be familiar with Simmons’ operating systems and their role in supporting them, communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Background in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

- Recommend timely adjustments to improve compliance.
- Ensure the quality of the product is up to customer standards, including monitoring product weights, checking color, odor and texture, checking seal integrity and performing burst testing, and checking product code, fill temperature, and quality.
- Complete tear downs for each seamer head on the running seamer.
- Notify supervisor of any out of specification measurements after recheck is confirmed.
- Fill out documentation as required.
- Record information on the Quality log sheets & input all data in the Quality control computer at the QC station for further review.
- Participate as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Attend appropriate team meetings.
- Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
- Be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems.
- Communicate concerns and improvement ideas regarding operating systems.
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
