About The Position

The QA Technician I assists with tasks related to the quality of finished products, raw ingredients, and packaging materials. The role helps ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety practices are followed, and that products and packaging comply with specifications. The position works with production on regulatory and quality issues and documents corrective actions. It is a second-shift role, scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment.
• Excellent time-management and task-prioritization abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand specifications and other technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail, including accurate data and sample collection and paperwork.
• Ability to use a tablet or iPad.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Certificates related to food safety and/or HACCP.
• Knowledge of food safety fundamentals.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Responsibilities

• Collect measurements, test components, and report results to verify they fall within specification ranges.
• Ensure sandwiches are built to specification.
• Conduct in-line audits and product assessments for food-product specification compliance.
• Coordinate with production on regulatory and quality issues and document corrective actions.
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed.
• Assess the facility for sanitary compliance.
• Collect weights and measurements of finished products.
• Ensure package integrity and accuracy.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
