About The Position

The QA Technician 2 performs tests on in-process product to evaluate compliance with company and regulatory food safety standards, under the direct supervision and direction of the QA Supervisor. The role requires following all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety requirements. The technician works with manufacturing line employees, primarily communicating in Spanish, and may serve as a backup for AM/PM QA Technicians. The position is seasonal and based at GreenGate Fresh in Yuma, Arizona.

Requirements

• Ability to use a calculator and perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Strong sense of urgency.
• Punctuality.
• Ability to work as a team player and take initiative.
• Ability to perform regular tasks with hands and fingers and maintain hand dexterity and strength.
• Ability to perform physical activities including lifting equipment up to 25 pounds unassisted, bending, kneeling, crouching, standing, climbing, or walking.
• Ability and willingness to work in extremely cold temperatures of 34–36°F and wet conditions.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of related Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document food-grade chlorine and citric acid proportions in processing water to ensure solutions meet established levels.
• Accurately complete and submit supporting documentation and immediately report discrepancies and violations to the Supervisor.
• Evaluate raw and finished product for defects and non-conformance with quality standards.
• Communicate and maintain positive working relationships with manufacturing staff.
• Follow all safety, GMP, and food safety requirements and protocols.
• Actively participate in Tailgate meetings.
• Cooperate with managers and other leaders to help ensure legal and ethical requirements are met.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality team and management.
• Serve as backup for QA Technicians (AM/PM), as needed.
