About The Position

Principe Foods, a division of JBS Prepared Foods, is opening a new facility in Columbia, MO, combining old-world traditions with innovative recipes. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician for the Principe Columbia site. Under direct supervision and following established laboratory procedures, the technician will be responsible for conducting microbiological and chemical testing of food products. They will also assist with various companywide projects related to food safety and quality.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent.
Relevant work experience and proven skills will be considered in lieu of education.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both individually and as a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Basic computer skills required, including Outlook and Excel.
Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Basic understanding of Quality Control Laboratory equipment & methodologies.

Nice To Haves

College degree in microbiology preferred.

Responsibilities

Apply aseptic technique in all aspects of work.
Conduct microbiological and chemical testing of food product.
Inventory and report status of consumables (e.g., supplies).
Conduct routine preventive maintenance and sanitize laboratory equipment.
Critically analyze data and enter in LIMS database.
Maintain agents and media as needed for daily testing.
Assist with investigational studies.
Follow all laboratory safety guidelines.
Share information & collaborate with co-workers in an open and timely manner.
Conduct equipment calibration activities.
Lead by example to ensure the actions of other services employees support our goals for quality, quantity, and safety.
