About the position

The job overview for this position is to find bugs, defects, and regressions in software, as well as design, implement, execute, and debug test cases and/or automated test scripts. The role involves validating and documenting completion of testing and development, verifying fixes, and planning and executing test activities for exploratory and regression testing. The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic skills, a technical background, experience with SQL and ERP systems, and a thorough understanding of administrative software.

Responsibilities

Find bugs, defects, and regressions
Design, implement, execute, and debug test cases and/or automated test scripts
Validate and document completion of testing and development
Verify fixes and help ensure successful releases by planning and executing test activities for exploratory and regression testing
Demonstrate and apply product, domain, or technical expertise to maximize the quality of testing for a development team
Maintain a positive and professional attitude
Identify opportunities for improving processes, training, and tools and make appropriate recommendations to management
Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Develop testing plans and testing scenarios in accordance with the functional requirements and detail technical specifications provided by the design team
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities within a cross-functional development team
Design, develop, and execute test cases and/or automation scripts using provided tools
Identify, record, document, and track bugs
Perform regular regression, exploratory, and system testing as required
Monitor and maintain bug backlogs for accuracy
Must have strong diagnostic skills to properly test software and measure the quality of the product
Must have a technical background to be able to create proper testing scenarios from the functional requirements and detail specifications
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio and writing SQL queries
Experience with QA testing on ERP type applications/systems
A thorough understanding of administrative software for
