QA Automation Performance Engineer

Koniag Government Services, LLC•Washington, DC
•$148,000 - $175,000

About The Position

Tuknik Government Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is recruiting a QA Automation Performance Engineer to support its U.S. Army customer on a large-scale Army contracting systems modernization and automation program. The role engineers reusable automated test suites and performance evidence for releases, migration waves, and separate IL-5/IL-6 environments. It focuses on pipeline-integrated automation and load, stress, endurance, concurrency, recovery, and reliability testing rather than primarily manual functional testing. This is a contingent recruiting profile for a future new business opportunity; the opening, employing subsidiary, compensation, work location, and staffing remain subject to final contract authorization. The engineer designs test architecture, integrates suites into approved CI/CD pipelines and release gates, evaluates and reuses Government-furnished scripts, and develops maintainable UI, workflow, API, integration, data, accessibility, smoke, and regression automation. The role also defines representative workloads and success criteria, runs tests independently within IL-5 and IL-6 boundaries, analyzes performance and reliability results, publishes evidence and recommendations, and coaches developers and QA staff. Work may occur remotely when authorized, at Government facilities, or in controlled office and data-center environments. Work involving classified information or SIPRNet must take place at a Government-approved secure location using authorized systems. The position generally supports Government business hours, with occasional release, incident-response, maintenance-window, or approved travel requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The company is an equal opportunity employer and provides an accommodation contact for applicants who need assistance applying. Koniag Government Services is an Alaska Native Owned corporation supporting Federal Government Agencies through enterprise solutions, professional services, and operational management.

  • Define representative workloads, user journeys, test data, thresholds, baselines, and pass/fail criteria with architecture and operations leads.
  • Execute tests independently within IL-5 and IL-6 using boundary-resident credentials, data, tools, and evidence repositories.
  • Analyze response time, throughput, error rates, queues, resource usage, memory behavior, scaling, and bottlenecks.
  • Publish raw results, trends, defects, and release recommendations to Government-visible dashboards and repositories.
