About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a motivated Python Developer with expertise in AWS and serverless technologies. This role involves working within a data and technology innovation hub focused on the federal government. The position offers the opportunity to build cloud-native, event-driven application workflows on AWS using Lambda and Step Functions, connect COTS products, build API connections, and create automated data and document pipelines. Requirements

  • Sole United States citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
  • Hybrid role requiring regular commuting into Washington, DC
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Working-level command of Python
  • Experience with modern languages and frameworks
  • Experience with version control
  • Familiarity with cloud development on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts
  • Ability to turn a defined specification into working, tested code and own it through to production
  • Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Clear communication skills, ability to adapt across roles and clients
  • Precision for work where accuracy and auditability are critical

Nice To Haves

  • Amazon Web Services exposure or certification
  • Federal information technology experience
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling

Responsibilities

  • Building serverless, event-driven application workflows, cloud-native on AWS, with Lambda and Step Functions
  • Connecting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products into larger system frameworks
  • Building API connections, whether internal or external, that support modern system architectures
  • Creating data and document pipelines that automate manual processes
  • Developing cloud-native, modern systems with streamlined, automated operations
  • Producing tested, working code and owning it through to production, including defect correction
  • Implementing automation to replace manual processes, validations, checks, and workflows
  • Facilitating routine deployments with services shipped through pipelines
  • Utilizing AI-assisted development tools like Amazon Q Developer across the entire lifecycle
  • Contributing to the firm's growth by launching new capabilities, tools, and lines of business
