About The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Developer with strong AWS and Python expertise to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications. Based in Atlanta, GA, this role will combine deep technical hands-on work with leadership responsibilities, guiding a team of developers while partnering with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8 years of software development experience, including 2 years in a lead role
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud platform
  • Proven experience designing microservices and distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, system design, and scalable architectures
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or Professional)
  • Experience in industries common in Atlanta (FinTech, Healthcare, Logistics)
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures (SNS, SQS, Kafka)
  • Knowledge of security and compliance best practices
  • Agile/Scrum experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and development of applications using Python and AWS services
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and design patterns
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable code
  • Drive technical decisions and provide strategic direction for engineering initiatives
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on AWS
  • Work with AWS services such as: Lambda, ECS, EKS API Gateway S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora CloudFormation / Terraform (IaC)
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost
  • Develop robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • Lead the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams
  • Mentor and coach a team of developers in Atlanta and remote locations
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
  • Work with product managers, architects, and business teams to define requirements
  • Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Provide status updates, risk assessments, and technical insights to leadership
