About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join their data and technology innovation hub. This role involves owning the technical design and delivery of defined application or solution areas within a federal government context. The developer will make design decisions, guide implementation, and ensure the quality of integrated solutions through production. The work focuses on modern cloud-native systems, particularly serverless, event-driven architectures on AWS, and integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. The position emphasizes adaptability, continuous learning, and creating public value through technology. Developers are encouraged to use AI-assisted development tools and contribute to the firm's growth.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with modern languages and frameworks.
  • Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
  • Experience with automated testing.
  • Experience with secure coding.
  • Ability to own the technical design and delivery of an application or solution area, including component design, integration, and delivery through production.

Nice To Haves

  • An Amazon Web Services certification.
  • Serverless and event-driven development experience.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Leading feature work on an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-native stack, with ownership of user stories from refinement through production.
  • Directing the build of serverless, event-driven application workflows on Lambda and Step Functions.
  • Owning how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products integrate with the larger system frameworks built in-house.
  • Designing and shipping the application programming interface (API) connections that modern system architectures rest on.
  • Leading the data and document pipelines that automate manual, paper-heavy work.
  • Improving code, tests, and people.
  • Making and communicating hard calls without drama.
  • Keeping the team steady and productive when priorities shift.
  • Communicating clearly and adapting across roles and clients.
  • Experimenting, learning from failure, and trying again quickly.
  • Owning an outcome rather than simply being given a task.
  • Developing modern cloud-native systems that create exceptional business value through streamlined, automated operation.
  • Building an integrated application or solution area whose components work together reliably, with tested code and a consistent quality bar.
  • Creating automation that replaces manual validations, checks, and workflows.
  • Building and maintaining delivery paths, including pipelines and automated tests.
  • Utilizing AI-assisted development as the default way of working.
  • Improving other developers through working alongside them.
  • Launching new capabilities, tools, and lines of business over time.
