In this role, you will likely take user stories from refinement through production. The work may include building cloud-native, serverless, event-driven application workflows on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using Lambda and Step Functions; integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products into larger system frameworks; building API connections; and creating data and document pipelines. Adaptability and a demonstrated ability to learn new concepts, systems, and tools are important as projects finish and priorities shift. The work is real, hard, and matters. Requirements

• Sole United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination.
• Hybrid role based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, requiring commuting into DC regularly.
• At least four years of software development experience.
• A bachelor's degree.
• Working-level command of Python.
• Experience with modern languages and frameworks.
• Experience with version control.
• Familiarity with cloud development on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts.
• Ability to turn a defined specification into working, tested code and own it through to production.
• Basic proficiency in writing, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Delivery habits including version control, unit and integration testing, code review, secure coding, and accessibility.
• Ability to explain your work plainly to the people who depend on it and to listen carefully to what they need.
• Precision in work where accuracy and auditability are not optional.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to Amazon Web Services or an Amazon Web Services certification.
• Federal information technology experience.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Building cloud-native, serverless, event-driven application workflows on Amazon Web Services (AWS), using Lambda and Step Functions.
• Integrating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products into the larger system frameworks built in-house.
• Building application programming interface (API) connections, whether internal or external, that support modern system architectures.
• Creating data and document pipelines that automate manual, paper-heavy work.
• Turning a defined specification into working, tested code and owning it through to production.
• Developing modern cloud-native systems that create exceptional business value through streamlined, automated operation.
• Producing tested, working code that you own all the way to production, including defects.
• Creating automation that replaces manual validations, checks, and workflows.
• Performing routine deployments, with services shipped through pipelines.
• Utilizing AI-assisted development as the default way of working, with tools such as Amazon Q Developer across the entire lifecycle.
• Helping to build the firm itself, through new capabilities, tools, and lines of business.
